Just received a note via e-mail from a University of Pennsylvania researcher on behalf of the USFSA.

Seems they're doing a survey, through the USFSA website, to "[help]U.S. Figure Skating learn more about the preferences, priorities, purchase habits and more of their most valued resource - their members."

It goes on to state:

By completing this online survey you will be entered into a drawing for a pair of all-event tickets to the 2006 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. You must complete the survey by August 5, 2005 to be entered into the drawing. In order to access the survey, please log into the U.S. Figure Skating members only website using your membership number and password (https://www.usfsaonline.org (https://www.usfsaonline.org/)) and click on the 2005 Membership Survey link. If you have forgotten your password or don’t have a password, there is a link on the login page to create one. If you have problems with your password, please email memberservices@usfigureskating.org (http://us.f539.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=memberservices@usfigureskating.org).

I just finished it. They asked for a lot of non-skating information, like our magazine and travel preferences, annual income, education, etc. (I left most of the really personal stuff blank. If you have to sign in with an ID and Password, it may not be all that "confidential.") Must be a marketing survey to sell more advertising and online travel.

Well, maybe I'll win the tickets to the State Farm champs.
