According to the article, her grandmother is ill and she doesn't want to commute to Oakland to work with Christy Ness any more (I thought she was with her for more than 1 season - I guess not?). Ken Congemi will be her main coach and Frank Carroll will be the assistant.

Interesting that Frank Carroll says she has a good shot at the Oly team. I wonder what he thinks about the chances of his current student, Jenny Kirk?

I wonder what he thinks about the chances of his current student, Jenny Kirk?Well, I guess they'll have to take down the big banner sign with BeBe's name at the Oakland rink now. (I was JUST over at that rink two weekends ago b/c my weekend rink was closed for their skating school show and noticed that. I wasn't used to seeing Beatrisa associated with Oakland, b/c I always felt she was an So. Cal gal.) :P

That's an awful commute...over 8 hours by car, over an hour by plane...very expensive I presume.

Bebe is really good...she would have to make less of a qualitative change to be more mature and artistic by the Olympics than some have in the space of a year!

Jenny Kirk and Angela Nikodinov are also Frank Carroll's students, are they not? Objectively, there is no conflict...subjectively, there could be.

Jenny is, but Angela is not. I think she left Carroll a couple of years ago. I believe her coach is Igor Paskevich (sp?).

HealthSouth Training Center in El Segundo? Is that where Carrol is based? I thought he was at Lake Arrowhead? When did he relocate?
And on a side note, where does Michelle Kwan train currently? (and I don't mean the new rink in Artesia) I thought she was in Lake Arrowhead too?

You're behind on your info a few years. Carroll is a Healthsouth. And Michelle IS at Artesia, I'm not sure what you meant by "I don't mean Artesia..", because that's where she is training. :?:

Actually the "HealthSouth" corporate name is no more -- the El Segundo facility is now known as the "Toyota Sports Center."

You're right, you must not know much about her. I've not seen her cheat a jump ever, except when she tried a 3-lutz/3-loop where the loop was a little cheated. Here jumps are typically very high and fully rotated...
