Are they still planning on making a comeback this year? I don't see them on any GP rosters....

I second the question. I would love to see them again. I've never seen more passionate ice dance than theirs and I think they would fare well under COP. Their emotion, potent as it was, never seemed canned or forced and the choreography had the same authenticity. Judging may not be fairer than it was when they were skating but it's at least more erratic so they might sometimes get the marks they always deserved but never seemed to get.

They can't really do the Grand Prix - they've not competed for the past few years, so they're not in the rankings any more (and if, then probably low). It's the federations which invite skaters, based on the rankings. And since Lithuania does not host any Grand Prix event, they couldn't get the backing of their home federation.
I'm a bit disappointed, though... I was really looking forward to see them, and it seems like we'll all have to wait until Europeans... They'll probably skate at the Olympic qualifying competition, but it's doubtful that it'll be televised.

By the way, the ISU announced the events for next season. I can't find the link now, but it's official that Karl Schaefer Memorial in Vienna will be the qualifier.

Margarita & Povilas will indeed compete at the Karl Schafer Memorial in October. They hope to qualify there for the Olympics. I'm sure we'll see them at Euro's as well.

You can find a link to their website at www.europeonice.com (http://www.europeonice.com)

Glad to hear the official word that they're returning. I look forward to seeing them skate again. I really enjoyed their past performances and was sorry to see them leave so abruptly after 2002 worlds. It will be interesting to see how they place after being away for so long.
