We've all seen how much Sasha has improved in just a few months under Mr. Nicks. The rumors are that she's gained consistency with the quad will start trying it again this season. I am mega excited about this new venture for Sasha. She is the most consistent American lady we have right now and our ONLY hope for an Olympic medal. I truly believe the gold will be hers to lose.

I'm not one for being a hugely partisan fan (with regards to the Kwan/Cohen split)... but I certainly hope they're just rumors. There are a substantial number of jumpers coming up, but if the last Worlds is any judge, being able to pop off a quad isn't going to put you on the medal stand, especially if it comes at the cost of your other elements.
The last time Cohen was hinting around going after a quad was what.. just before Salt Lake? Her 'problem' with her program isn't that her technical difficulty isn't high enough. It's that she tends to lose concentration and bauble things. She could probably win with just a 3/2 if her program was flawless, and she certainly has a better shot with that than with a program with a 3/3 that's flawed or a fall on a quad -- or worse, an injury.

I think if she did one that would be impressive, but I don't think she needs it, so why risk screwing with her timing on her other jumps? Plus, skaters have said in the past that doing, or missing, a quad can really mess up the rest of your program. Sasha has enough trouble with focus and concentration, I'm afraid if she did one, or missed one, she'd never be able to keep the rest of her program together.
Sasha's programs are good enough to win now. Sasha is good enough to win everything, now. If she can just do her programs without beating herself and making small mistakes and allowing them to throw her entire program. So, she ought not worry about the quad right now and, instead, worry about doing clean run-through after run-through of her programs - without any quads.

Instead of a quad why not get her triples to the point she doesn't flutz, lip and have more solid landings with good edging coming out of them?

FIrst of all, it doesn't work like that in skating, not at all.
Getting rid of a flutz or lip has NOTHING to do with being able to land a quad salchow or any quad.
If a skater tends to or is able to overrotate a 3 salchow (or 3 toe loop etc.), then they have a chance of doing a quad sal...just like when Kulik used to overrotate his 3 axel (a mistake) and land 4 axels in practice. The evolution of the 3 jumps was precisely like that, as well...the skater could do more. Had nothing to do with a flutz or lip! Given that innate ability then being more perfect in technique is important as to consistency on the quad.
Secondly, Sasha flutzes no more than Kwan, she has a great flip jump and usually has solid landings on all her jumps...you apparently dwell on her mistakes and confuse them with her overall skating.

ok, ok, ok...let's stop with the crap. (and I'm not calling your post crap, loveskating; what I mean to say to all to whom this applies: will ya' stop, fer cry'n outloud, with the burn-the-skater remarks? just answer the friggin question! ok, rant over. Here is my opinion.)
I don't think Sasha needs the quad to be atop the podium, especially under CoP. Her presentation and other skills, i.e. spiral, layback, spins, rack up tons of points. Her current jumps rack up points.
I have no doubt her quad would be breathtaking. But, jeezy-peezy, that girl has had injuries that took her out of competition for a year. Puleeze, Sasha, do not go for the quad.
