Chris Cuthbert as found a new home with CTV and TSN. According to this article, Chris will be replacing Rod Black in the figure skating chair. He is a great announcer, very respectful of figure skating and all the other sports he deals with.
Congatulations to CTV/TSN, it is definately CBC's loss!

Not so much CBC's loss as major, major screwup on their part. This entire thing does not put Nancy Lee in a good light. I mean...You let go someone who is respected on so many levels in the sporting community in Canada and do it in such a way you left yourself open for legal action on Chris' part because of how all this happened...I'm not really crying the blues for CBC at the moment.
Knew Chris would end up either w/CTV/TSN or Sportsnet. As much as I would have loved to hear him call a baseball game, he's at the better network for his talents. Looking forward to Skate Canada more than ever now. :D

While Rod Black usually doesn't annoy me as much as many others (well, except when he goes overboard on the Elvis love train!), I'll be glad if this story is true.
I'm not familiar with Chris Cuthbert's hockey or baseball commentary since I don't follow either of those sports closely, but I always thought he did a great job when CBC had the World Championship rights in the late 80s/early 90s and was disappointed not to see him back in the broadcast booth when CBC recently started broadcasting Worlds again.
I'm looking forward to seeing how well Chris will fit in on CTV/TSN and I wish him the best of luck at his new broadcasting home. :D
