In a missive posted on the official International Skating Union website today, entitled "Update on ISU activity," the leadership of Figure Skating's international governing body appears to have their panties in a twist over recent actions and remarks regarding their recent "official activities".
Legal actions threatened... (http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=kwantifiable)

It is childish releases like this from the ISU that should make "Cracked Ice" by sonia Biachetti Garbato required reading for every serious skater and skating fan.
I would love to see world wide media go after all his cronies for collaborating statements and have them exposed for what they really are within their own countries.
Is he a megalomania? Is he running scared? Can't anyone break open his can of worms!! I am just sick of what he is doing to our sport! And the IOC approves of his tactics!? What a sham the whole sport world has become.

The ISU should take any action they can to recover some of the legal expenses they incurred from the WSF lawsuit. Anyone who reads the legal opinion can see it was not based on sound legal ground. The recent eligibility decisions were also documented pretty thoroughly & there were some pretty sleazy actions by some of the people who have been sanctioned. The ISU may need continued improvement, but the group on the other side has been as bad or worse.

I agree...the ISU should take any and all legal action it is entitled to, and which is politically acceptable.
Judge Sprizzo is one of the great judges...he came very close to laying a basis for sanctioning WFS's attorneys, seems to me, for bringing a frivolous law suit. It seems to me that they have no legal standing in reference to the ISU. There has to be a contract or an agreement or some socially recognized relationship for the courts to give "standing". I mean, what is the difference in the WFS and say, me and my freinds, forming some organization and then trying to sue the ISU?
Additionally, it seems to me that it is the ISU which has behaved in a responsible, grown up manner...including in the COP which actually addresses the systemic subjective "presentation" marks, where a lot of the nationalism found a place to hide! Just removing judges YOU have accused of wrongdoing, and without due process, does not guarantee that others will not be corrupt in their place...and why is it so-called "eastern bloc" judges only who are accused? How about that Canadian judge who gave a 5.9 to Stojko in the SP at the 98 Olympics...when he did not remotely deserve it!
