On Thin Ice

On Thin Ice is on channel Five on Thursday, 10th March at 10am.

It's something about an "Olympian ice hockey player" (Is ice hockey an olympic event?) who dies suddenly and returns to earth as a female figure skater. Starring Nancy Kerrigan and Tara Lipinski.

This sounds great -- I'd love to see it. Have to set the VCR.

On a different note, On Thin Ice is also the title of a book written about the Jelinek siblings, who were born in Czechoslovakia, emigrated during the war, settled in Canada and became a very talented pairs team.

It's an interesting story, highlighted what was a catastrophe for the US: the 1961 Worlds competition that never was because the US Team was killed in a plane crash on the way to the Jelinek's homeland.

In the US anyway, I believe the working title is "Ice Angel." Its kinda hokey, but cute.
