Say I was reading IFS. Magazine and thought of this topic......and that is.....if you could start a Program at your Club or Rink for any type of skating that you thought it might need...what would it be?

I'd try to get more college students in general. But we already have a program for that.

I can only wish I had a rink close enough to me...or at least the one that was a good 1/2 hours drive away would answer their phone to let me know when public sessions are.
I only skate for fun and haven't done that in too long to mention!
My dream is that I could build a rink on a piece of our land, but unfortunately, there are pipe-lines running under the one piece we have so you can't build over it, it's only good for farming or rezoning into tiny pieces around the pipe-line for small homestead plots. Many years ago my husbands grandfather was offered the chance to sell a piece of this land to the Philadelphia Flyers organization to build a practice rink on....the township zoning would not allow it....to just think what fun that would've been having that rink there....I'm sure being the family that supplied the land would've earned us perks.

Adult skating camp. Not during the summer however as my children and many fellow skaters kids are out of school. I would like to take moves, spins, jumps, and off ice skill classes like the skating kids. It would be interesting to work with different coaches and hear new approaches and experience different coaching styles. It would just be a fun opportunity and experience.

I think it would be really fun to start a synchro team. Other than a few group numbers in our annual show, we don't have any experience. But, it looks like fun as well as hard work! We have enough colleges in the area, so I think a collegiate team would be useful, too.

I would consider myself very lucky if I could only convince someone to help us have a rink for more than 3 months during the winter :frus: !!!The students would really benefit....but as it is they are doing well all things considered.....
