Here's the MSNBC article:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/791889.asp
Hopefully NOW Tonya might realize that she has to shape up and get her life together, and maybe that means NOT being a skating star or any kind of star, period. I just hope she gets some help and can live a quiet and healthy life; however, her yen for being the center of attention might create problems. I wish her luck and health.
'I'm grateful to the judge for giving me this opportunity; I finally found out what my problem is: It's alcohol,''
Whatever! If it's not alcohol, then it's something else. Geez, she is 31 years old and still can't get it together.
And more importantly..........who really cares anymore?!
Whoops, the above quote is not quite in the right place; but I'm sure you get the message!
I fixed it. I'm slowly going through and fixing broken VB code. -Kestral

who really cares? well, whenever anything about tonya happens, it always finds its way here--and in the papers.
i hope tonya does eventually get her life together, and personally, i would LOVE for her to become a success once again in the sport of figure skating. if i were a promoter, i would attempt to put together a World Pro Rematch Competition, that features the 5 top skaters of the 92 Olympics: kristi, midori, nancy, tonya, and surya. such a contest would CLEAN UP! :D

I would totally watch a re-match of the final flight from '92.

if the '92 ladies had a rematch today, i think the winners would stack up as follows:
Kristi
Midori
Surya
Nancy
Tonya
This is based on NOW, not THEN. And I mean today. If they all had 6 months to prepare, Nancy might slide into the top three, bumping Surya...but I doubt it.

Good luck getting Nancy & Kristi. I think they have both said in past interviews they would never skate in any events with Tonya.
On the Tonya DUI issue though, the press does seem to make a spectacle out of her. She does have a lot of problems but so do many other people (& more) who are as well or better known than her & you don't always hear about it. The press always seems to turn it into a circus sideshow. It's National Enquirer-like fodder for regular news.
