View Full Version : Will Kimmie and Katy be old enough to compete in GP events this year?
I was wonering if Kimmie is going to start competing in the international senior circuit this year. If Michelle and Sasha skip GP again this year, Kimmie will be the only US skater with the prospect of actually making it to GP final.
And it'll be interesting to see how well she can do against Canadian and Japanese teen skaters. US GP team pretty much bombed last year.
To answer the question in the thread title, yes Kimmie and katy will be old enough to do GP events next: in fact they were age-eligible this year, as the rule for international competitions is 14.
I would ceertainly think that Kimmie will be on the GP cicuit next year, but as for Katy, I think it is unlikely, although I haven't taken a look at the ISU ranking recently, nor projected how they might look after 4CCs/Junior Worlds. I would think that in the long term another year on the JGP circuit, and hopefully a trip to the JGPF, would do Katy's ISU rankings more good than a senior B assignment. But only time will tell how everything works out.

I'm sure Kimmie will get some senior grand prix events, while I doubt Katy will. I think she'll do well on the JGP for another year, hopefully making the final this time!
