I encourage you to visit the Memorial Fund page on the UFSA site. Scroll down and click on"memorial dedication" in bold. There you will find newpaper articles, some from 1961, about the human face of the tragedy. There are stories about the Westerfeld sisiters, and the Owen Family. So many lives gone and so many left. One couple left a 8 month old baby at home. You can read about the humanity of the sterling buliders in our sport, such as F.Ritter Shumway, Hollis Albright, Ben and Mary Louise Wright.
I knew most of the info in these stories but had never read these accounts before.
