Am I right in assuming from this list that it's restricted to current Olympic-eligible skaters? Because I wouldn't pick any of those. I'd vote for Steven Cousins, David Pelletier, or John Zimmerman (depends largely on what they're wearing ;) ).

Of current eligible skaters, if I have to pick just one I gues I'd say ... Fedor Andreev.

And there should be a special sub-category for skaters who think they're the hottest -- that would be Philipe C., with Yags and Mikey W. as runners up.

I guess I can't answer this one, I'd vote for myself! Just kidding. I do think that the hottest female skater is Irina S. It's something about the double beilman, I swear. And she has a nice heart shaped smile.

Well, if it's who I think is the hottest skater , then it's Weir. However I assume you meant the sexiest guy. From your list I'd say Joubert.

I did not mean to post this twice, so if I did--please forgive me as a newbie.

John Zimmerman, and forgive my spelling here--Gwendal Peizerat.

Johnny Weir is also kind of doing it for me in an odd (fey) sort of way

John Zimmerman. Oh, and if this thread includes pairs guys - I also think Garrett Lucash is good looking. (you know... the one who skates pairs with Katie Orscher) He looks somewhat of Russian descent if you ask me, but I don't THINK he is... :??

I chose "other"....
I voted thinking you meant "hottest" as in "looks/personality/charm" etc....and my vote goes to Kurt Browning.

From your list, I'd say Buttle, but I'm a little too "mature" for him....if you meant hottest SKATER as in how the skater skates, then I think I'd pick Weir.

But I wouldn't dare wear it unless I was really good.

Joubert is a good looking guy, very confident and manly on and off the ice.

The only current male skater in American seniors that I think is goodlooking is Ryan Bradley, on and off the ice.

Johnny??? 8O 8O Lord NO! He looks soft and girlish, and wears frilly sparkly costumes with hearts and ribbons. that is the opposite of a hot guy to me.

Evan's ok off the ice, good looking on the ice.

Tim is ordinary.

Weiss...best body by far.

Oh, totally. Which is not to say 'feminine'...I disagree with WBE here. I find Johnny's skating very fluid and beautiful, and that's not something to be restricted to females. But I also think he's hot...even though I get a few fey vibes too...which have nothing to do with his skating or his costumes, incidentally. (Frankly, I think his costumes are perfect for the music he chooses.) But then, there are a number of queer guys that I think are very hot, so that's not unusual. It's not like hotness is restricted to the straight, after all. (Disclaimer...I have no knowledge of Johnny's orientation, nor do I care.)

Joubert is also a hottie, and I'm kind of liking Ben Agosto as well. I think it's the rakish grin--not to mention sheer, unadulterated talent. :D

Brian Joubert has the classical good looks and pleasing personality.

Me, I think Johnney Wier is far more interesting and complex...I totally enjoy him on and off the ice.

I think Ilia Kulik is the best looking skater I've ever seen. He is good looking up against Hollywood, could easily be a movie star. He also has huge charisma...walks into the room and fills it up totally, and is even considerably better looking in person than on the screen.

Alexander Abt is also really good looking, but in a 'Little Rascals' kind of way...he has a unique personality that is both lovable and passionate, like Errol Flynn or something.

Well, one doesn't preclude the other, LOL! How many straight women had (and still have, frankly) crushes on Richard Chamberlain or Rock Hudson, for example? I think Ian McKellen is quite dashing. And you should hear how gay men go on about certain straight men such as Brad Pitt or Hugh Jackman, or Johnny Depp. It definitely goes both ways! :D

You know--I never was a fan of Elvis Stojko (bad spelling of last name I am sure) but I saw him yesterday on Brian Boitano's Skating Spectacular, and with both numbers, he had the crowd in his pocket--great energy, feel for the music and an engaging charm. Too bad he has that giant head on that little body--it's very distracting.

My vote tends to change from time to time, but I know probably not johnny wier. He just doesn't look all that much like a strong sexy man that I would want to spend time with. I've never met him, but he looks like he'd be stuck up. and I can't stand men in those one piece jumpsuit things. They just don't do much for me.

My vote actually went to Evan Lyse... (yea, I can't spell his last name, you know who I mean though). He's got that boy next door look to him. And he looks really cute for some reason when he does his "Singing in the Rain" number.

Alexei Yagudin has to have one of the best bodies I have ever seen. All this muscle!

It's not so much that I think Elvis' skating is, and always has been, overrated. It's that he's trying to be something he's not, which is attractive and appealing. When he tries in vain to be sexy, it just comes across as humorous, and I don't think being humorous is his intent. I howled with laughter when I saw him skate in that "other Elvis" inspired outfit because he just looked so hideous in it, especially compared to the other skaters. "Artistic" is a major component in figure skating. I don't care how ugly a basketball player may be - if he scores 30 points and helps his team win, who cares, I'll still be a fan and admire his physical strength. I'll buy a ticket to see that. But I wouldn't shell out bucks to see some butt ugly figure skater. Figure skaters should be physically attractive, and Elvis is even uglier than ever. It helps, but skaters don't all have to be "drop dead gorgeous", movie-star beautiful to be physically appealing. I always thought that Brian Boitano and Scott Hamilton, for example, were more "cute" than handsome - and they still look good and are pleasing to the eye. I'd pay to see them. But, Elvis, I'm sorry man, but he is totally washed-up! The only thing left for him is to play the Mayor of Munchkinland in The Wizard of Oz on ice (hey, not a bad idea!) or other similar roles where his roly-poly build would be intentionally funny, in a b-level tour. Watching Elvis skate is like watching Danny DeVito or Ernie Sabella skate - fine actors, yes - but hunks they're not. I have no use for some over-the-hill, overrated, fat, balding, ugly Canadian figure skater!
So using this reasoning, the following exchange should have occurred when Elvis was a little boy:
COACH: Elvis, I'm afraid you can't come back to the rink any more.
L'IL ELVIS: But why, Coach? I'm the best skater here by far.
COACH: Your point? Hey, I'm trying to be nice, Big Head! You can't be out there on the same ice as little Cindy (name changed to protect the pretty) and young Jimmy (name changed to protect the long, lean and fey).
L'IL ELVIS: But Coach, they spend more time flat on their faces on the ice than they do skating upright.
COACH: Puh-LEEZE! It's all about priorities. You got talent. You got energy. You got drive. You got spirit. You got hit by the ugly stick. So it's buh-bye.
L'IL ELVIS: That's not fair, Coach!
COACH: Who said life is fair? Before you go, here's a paper bag to wear over your head so we can protect the public's sensibilities. Don't say I never gave you nuthin'.

I think the hottest man is a true man: clever, interesting, manly and the most important - charming. And I know at least one who can match this - Zhenya-Zhenechka-Zhen'ka Plushka.
About Buttle and Lysacek - they are cute but very standard. For example, I can hardly remember their looks (but for Lysacek, maybe). Weir is something too. Brian is not bad, but the real excitement is somebody's saying Ugly Plushenko. Well, have you ever met such people like him to judge and compare???

I've enjoyed the exchange with CLASSCAPTAIN200 so much that I was diverted and didn't weigh in with my own picks for hottest male skater. (No, Elvis doesn't get my vote here. I like him okay but he's never been a favorite of mine.)
1. Kurt Browning. He's handsome, charming, humorous and immensely talented. He's a perfect combination of manliness and grace.
2. Ilia Kulik. I don't think I have to explain.
3. Fedor Andreev. (Hope I got the name right.)
4. Evgeny Plushenko. I suppose I must explain. To me, he demonstrates power, charisma (YES, IT'S THERE), talent, confidence and hints of humor. In my opinion he has transformed himself from the gawky promising teenager into a manly, incredibly attractive athlete. You don't have to be a pretty boy to be hot! (A change of costumes and choreography would only enhance his look.)
5, etc. In no particular order, the following obvious picks would be: Stephane Lambiel, Stephen Cousins, Alexei Yagudin, John Zimmerman and David Pelletier.

1-Brian Joubert - hes is sooo adorable, there is no denying that!!
2- Jeff Buttle - I cant explain it, hes just so cute. Furthermore his skating components make you FALL in love with him more. I just melt, lol!
3- Fedor Andreev - enough said!
4- Andrew Poje- Hes just sooo pretty!!!
5- Johnny Wier - He's really high up there... I didnt really see it last year but this year he is adorable. It must have been the blue costume that got me like it did a couple of you guys!
6- John Zimmerman - too bad he's married!

You know, what you said in your post about Elvis is mean spirited. So he's not the twig that once landed 3 axel and quad ttoe competition after competition. Does every person have to fit a pre-exissting mold? Everyone is an individual and shaped differently. I saw Elvis on TV and he looks OK to me.

I guess you'll never want to see an Adult Nationals because not many of us adult skaters are still not in our 20's, few of us are thin, some of us are stalky, some of us have a few grey hairs and there aren't any quad jumps. OH and you certainly don't want to see adult skaters compete at Adult Canadians because were Canadian. I think this is just plain too bad for you.

classcaptain200 - now that you have presented your POV regarding all things Elvis.

Care to tell me who would win a poll for the most popular male skater in a mens magazine! the attractive male skaters?

sure... :halo:

At least in this case, Elvis wins hands down. And to think that without the pretty face wins. Oh the horrah!
