Um, no, Katie and Garrett weren't on the front. That was Belbin and Agosto. Katie and Garrett were mentioned inside. I don't have a direct link, but it would be somewhere at www.ctnow.com

Well, they should have made the paper...for the throw jumps alone, because that shows that they are going for it, working to be the best.

IMHO, they have the goods, its just a matter of fulfilling the potential. I can't wait to see them develop.

The Hartford Courant had the following:

Sat 1/14 - color photo of Belbin & Agosto on first page of sports section
Sun 1/15 - last page, had two color photos and articles, one each on Michelle Kwan and Jphnny Weir. The last few paragraphs of the article on Michele were about Orscher & Lucash.

I called the Hartford Courant Sport's section yesterdy to complain that the local paper did not cover them properly. The man I spoke with agreed and said they were planning a story on them.

Hopefully they will come through. But yikes - local team are National Champs and no big to do!

There was a nice article about Katie and Garrett on the back page of the sports section today. I am still somewhat disappointed though- we had eight other local skaters at nationals, including a novice team that medaled, and there were barely mentions of any of them, nor did they mention our local dance team that medaled at JN's last month.

The good news is, the reporter who covers skating for the Courant does a nice job and actually knows what he's talking about, unlike many local sports reporters who get "stuck" doing skating. I just wish they recognized how much local talent we really have.
