I was surprised to turn on the the World Figure Skating Chalenge and see Debbi Vikes as a Commentator!!!! Because I don't even think you see too much of her anymore. Even as Commentator. I wonder if she's making a comeback. BTW if you get the Oxygen Channel they must be trying to buy Skating. As they had it on 3 times in a row. One after the other!!!!!

I think you may have her confused with someone else. Debbi Wilkes has done commentary for Canadian TV for awhile (I think), and she writes about skating for one of the Canadian papers, but I've never known her to do commentary for U.S. TV before, that must be a new contract with someone.

I have no idea what you mean about the Oxygen network trying to "buy" skating, but figure skating is a popular thing to televise on Christmas Day. People don't sit around and watch tons of TV, so networks figure that skating is as likely to hold their attention as anything, let's buy the rights and show it several times.

The Oxygen broadcast of the WTC in the US is the same as the original broadcast on TSN (The Sports Network) in Canada. So you are getting all the same commentators (Tracy Wilson and Rod Black) and interviewers (Debbi Wilkes) as on the Canadian broadcast. I thought they all did a pretty good job.

I expect that Wilkes will appear on the Canadian Nationals coming up in January.

I didn't know we were getting what was essentially Canadian coverage! Awesome- I'm eager to see whether Canadian commentators are less annoying than ours ;)
