For those who are interested in the British Championships, but can't get
there until Saturday, or at all, there's a brilliant website:
http://national-ice-centre.com/icesports/events/british2004

Almost, almost, makes up for the lack of broadcasting - but not quite!

Is it on telly at all?

No, it never is. British skating hasn't been all that exciting in recent years, although that is changing fast. And today is only Primary & Juniors, at any rate. But if you go to the site and click on "Webcam", you'll see the Junior men's short programme live

I've clicked, it isn't that good though with the whole 10 second update thing. IS there any ever skating on telly in the UK?

I was just looking through the photos, and I saw a female skater wearing black pants - is that common at British Nationals? Is it the new rule change?

Schmeck, if you're refering to the girl wearing black pants and top, then I'm pretty sure it's a practice shot, if not because of the disheveled hair, then because it hasn't been mentioned in the commentary.

Not on terrestrial TV. The last time nationals was broadcast was 1999, and even then it was only 45 minutes of highlights. For those willing to pay out for satellite or cable Eurosport shows more or less every program at Worlds and Europeans, but no domestic coverage.

The nearest we're going to get to seeing any skating on terrestrial is Come Dancing Goes Ice Skating (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4042753.stm).

Thank you so much for posting the link. One of my son's skating friends and fellow competitor here in Texas just won Primary Men. It was so nice to find the link and see his picture. Way to go Luke!!!!
