Under the COP system, which ladies world freeskate would have garnered the highest jump point totals? Midori Ito in 1989 or Arakawa in 2004?
Ito:
3 Axel
3 Lutz
3 Loop
3 flip
3 Toe-3 Toe (LATE)
3 Salchow (LATE)
2 axel
Arakawa:
3 Lutz-3 toe
3 flip
3 loop
3 salchow-3 toe
3 lutz (LATE)
this should be interesting because the triple Axel should be rated more difificult than a triple-triple combination, and they certainly are much much less common.

Erm, geez, I wish I knew the system better, but I'd have to say Midori with the axel. Isn't the axel 6 points? Anyways, I'm wasting my time. I know I'm not helping you.

Since Miki Ando has the highest technical score given to a woman since the COP was instituted, you'd need to add her to the mix! Even without the quad sal, don't forget she has been doing that triple lutz-triple loop!

Hmmm. you're right. Her program would probably would've ranked higher than even Arakawa's: triple Lutz-triple loop, flip, salchow, late triple toe-triple toe...

3 Axel - 7.5
3 Lutz - 6
3 Loop - 5
3 flip - 5.5
3 Toe- 4
3 Salchow - 4.5
2 axel - 3.something?
well i think those are the values of each jump. The late elements get like 10% more.

I cannot believe that a triple Axel is worth LESS than a triple-triple combination. Lord knows, triple-triples are probably about 20X more common than a triple Axel among the ladies, and junior men who can't do triple Axels always resort to triple-triples. Something is seriously wrong with that point system.
Does anyone know what spins/footwork/tricks would be worth?

I notice that you have a 3loop not worth much in the big scheme of things.
Is that a typo, or is it because it seems to be so damaging to the skaters over time that someone wants to discourage it?
I hope it is the latter, wishful thinking though.

3loop is 5 points.
how is that not worth much?

Just out of curiosity, in what way is it more damaging to skaters over time?
