Since I'm not all that technically knowledgeable about figure skating, can someone please explain why Pang & Tong ended up second instead of Zagorska & Siudek, esp. considering that they were only ahead by a couple of points in the SP? It seemed to me they were REALLY held up in the scores. I thought they were held up in the scores at Skate Canada too but this seemed way worse. :?:

I didn't pay enough attention to give a very thorough response, but Pang and Tong's throw triple twist is absolutely inhuman. Of course it helps that she only weighs 50 pounds, LOL! ;)

I think it's hard to compare them since they're so different. That said, I would argue that Pang and Tong have much more speed, better flow and ice coverage, and more height on all the throw elements. Their transitional moves between elements are also arguably a little more interesting and meaningful to the context of the program. Other than that, I can't offer much more insight, as I don't know enough about how scoring in pairs works.
