Oh no............................. =-( I've always loved Scott for his fun and love of skating. In fact, I've always had a secret desire to skate on the same ice as him just once. I'd probably watch more than skate. but the idea has always been fun. I will be hoping for the best. He's small in stature but must have a tough spirit.

Very shocking - and sad - news indeed. I wondered why Scott didn't have many skating plans scheduled for this season - I guess now we know the reason.
Scott didn't even skate in his own Cleveland Clinic benefit show this year - he only introduced the other skaters and said the reason why he couldn't skate was because he hit himself on the head while performing a backflip. I guess he didn't want to worry his skating fans and friends about the real reason until the tests came back.
It's a relief to know Scott's cancer hasn't returned, but it must be a scary, difficult time for him and his family just the same. But if anyone can get through this with a positive attitude and make a full recovery, it would be Scott! :)
From what I've seen on my ward, pit tumors like that have a very good prognosis.
Wish him a good and speedy recovery

Tumors on the pituitary are called adenomas here's a link for any one interested. There is plenty of information. The pituitary is the master gland that resides behind your eyes, ergo Brian's vision problems.
All the best to him.

I'm glad it's benign, but that doesn't mean that it's going to be a walk in the park.
Even a benign tumor can be fatal. For example, if a benign tumor grows and impinges on normal tissue, causing abnormalities, that can result in life threatening complications. I'm not saying that is the case here, but benign doesn't mean *everything's ok and nothing bad will come of this* I pray that Scott has the easiest possible course.
I know that Scott is seeking the very best possible medical treatment and I wish him all the success and good health in the future.

I just feel so bad for him  First he was ill as a young child, then he had cancer, and now this. It sems so unfair for one person to have to go through alll of this.
I'm glad he has his wife and child for support.
I wish him all the best.

Scott looked so happy at his show here in Cleveland last weekend. He was just beaming when he introduced his wife & in-laws. He told a cute story about his son and then brought him up on stage. The story was how Aiden took his first steps while Scott was caring for him "solo" at home.
My heart goes out to Scott and I pray that he can survive the cancer once again.

Oh geez. :( You know, my dad had a benign brain tumor long ago and we were told 90% of brain tumors are malignant. I feel very sad for Scott, considering all he's gone through since childhood, but happy at least it isn't cancerous and that he's kinda "lucky" with this one. Will keep him in prayers, for sure. ~AF

"Benign" brain tumors can be much more dangerous than "malignant" ones. It all depends on where in the brain the tumor resides. A friend of mine had a tumor removed from his brain, and they had to saw off the top of his skull to get to it. He was in pain for years after that. Poor Scott.

It's good to hear he's keeping such a positive attitude about this ordeal.
