Announced on the USFSA web site. Her withdrawal is because of her strained back. Sorry--I don't know how to link it for you.

I wonder if she will be going to the December cheesefest? I hope she doesn't risk further injury by attending a competition that doesn't mean very much. I am sure she doesn't need the money. She would have made more doing the GP.

Vicky--actually the cheesefests have a better payout!

About not needing the money...you'd be surprised. I mean, if you want 15,000 for an event, that doesn't even begin to pay you back for one season's worth of skating, costumes, music cuts, coach, choreography, etc. Sasha's been doing this since she was very little, so I doubt she's made back everything that's been spent on her skating. People always say prize money is too much, that it's a huge amount, but really, very few people even manage to make back what they put in.

omG I agree
prize money should be more
skating costs my mom $25,000 a year not including competitions (accomodations, meals, travel, and the coach too!) or skates, supplies, etc... It's just lessons, working out, and all that Jazz

anyways. I think it is a bummer that we won't see Michelle and Sasha skate until December (if they do that competition, Marshall's wasn't it, before nationals). I hope they get better soon!
