Thank you very much for these results. Please keep us informed of other results if you know them. The Minto website is not posting results and it's very annoying!

Thanks again!

what results are you interested in? i can get them back to you late tomorrow night.

i saw the Jr. dance CD...the ordinals were a bit messy, as you can see by the 4 way tie for second place!! but in reality, it was truly a difficult event to judge because strengths and weaknesses of all teams were difficult to discern--it was a large event and looked like it would be hard to prioritize some qualities over others--each couple had a different strength in a different area!!

off the top of my head, shawn sawyer won sr mens short, nicolas young was second, and a gentleman from GBR came third.

Turns out the "gentleman from GB" is none other than Neil Wilson! (stylish skater who competed at Worlds in the mid-1990s and has a nice layback spin). A while back I heard that he had relocated his training to Vancouver... glad to see he's back competing again!

just came back from a LOOOOOOOOONG day at the rink, with the most interesting event being the senior men's long!
I did not see the complete sr. men's short event, but saw all of the longs, and Neil Wilson DOES have amazing spinning ability! what innovative positions in his polished spins! quite frankly, he has put ALL of the ladies at the whole competition to shame!!!

the senior men's event was quite a good competition, though we did not see any completed quads. if anyone wants details, let me know and i will try to answer your queries. i would write more but my mind is pretty zonked right now! ;)

Did anyone catch either the Jr. or Sr. pairs on Saturday? How did Montgomery/Arnold and Dube/Tetreault look? What are their new programs like?

Also, which compulsories were skated, and how did Flynn/Gislason look for their first time competing Senior?

unfortunately, i did not see the pairs at all... :(

flynn/gislason fit in quite well in the sr. dance event...first place, almost unanimous for both the quickstep and the golden waltz! i only saw the quickstep and it was very well skated. they just keep improving.

Wow, I'm impressed! First time out as Seniors, they had to skate the Golden Waltz, and they place first? Go Lauren and Leif! :D

Did you see the NF skaters in pre-novice and novice? Just checked the results on the Minto site. They did quite well in the long programs in their goup (Novice - 3 and Pre-Novice - 2). They must have skated great and I'm so happy for them.

I actually think the second CD in Senior Dance was the Tango Romantica. Can you imagine having to skate that dance right out of juniors? Yikes!
