What a great result for the U.S. ladies! Angela almost won the short. Yeah! And Alissa, who was 12th at Nats last year, is in medal contention a major international comp. Wow! Wow! Wow! I hope Alissa will be given another GP assigment now that Jenny K. has withdrawn from Cup of China. Keeping my fingers crossed for the LP. Hope we see some great skating on the tv broadcast. Congrats to Cynthia too!

Kind of a silver lining under the string of injuries is we do get a chance to see some of these skaters rise to the occasion and surprise us :)
I agree! :)
I am particularly thrilled for Alissa. I saw her this summer at collegiates and most recently at EGL regionals and she is a remarkable stylist. It is hard to believe that she has been given only one other senior international before this.
Great result for her and I hope she sustains it in the long.

WOW! that Susanna Pykio really must have skated well in the Long Program; she got major points! This should be so nice for Angela Nikodinov! But I must say I am bored of her style of costuming now! Nonetheless, her technique and artistry are textbook to the CoP! She might pull of some surprises this year! :D

I don't think SA is on CTV or TSN!

If the judges score with COP the way it was meant to be.. or meant to work, idealistically.. then Angela would benefit more than some skaters that place above her, if she skates cleanly, of course. Her jumps are so technically beautiful when they are in the air.. and her landings can be so crisp.

What a huge accomplishment for Cynthia at her first ever senior GP event. Hope that's a sign of a great season to come!
