I didn't see Emily in any of the regional competitions last week??? Or Sarah for that matter???

Emily should be at North Atlantic Regionals this week...

That is right the Hughes' do compete out of Norths. Sarah doesn't have to compete in regionals because she is a current olympic medalist. She gets a bye to nationals if she decides to compete again.

Actually, that link above takes you to my Mid-Atlantics club competition report from September 2004. I haven't heard many details about Emily's performance at North Atlantic Regionals this past weekend other than she reportedly landed a 3flip in her SP and 2axel, 3toe and stepped out of a 3flip and another 3toe in her FS.

A friend of mine watched senior ladies at NA. She thought Emily skated with confidence and looked well prepared. She said her short was great, (maybe a little cheat of 3 flip?) Her LP was not as spectacular. She did a smokin' 2x, 3toe, 3flip-step out, and doubled everything else. Presentation was good. She thought Emily really didn't have to do to much because the field wasn't particularly tough. Liked Katz' skating but like the rest of the field, (2x,3toe,3sal). She thought the senior ladies lacked the difficult jumps. I think she said only Daria, and Adriana attemped a 3 lutz. She thought the latter was just coming off a serious injury or sometihing, but looked like she was on the right track. Congrats to all NA competitors moving on up!
