Just wanted to start something here for the skaters in the EGL Region. I was thrilled to see that David Weintraub switched regions and maybe coaches, and won JR.Men at the regional. Go David!!

Would anyone have a report on how the Jr. Men skated? I know David recieved 5 1st place ordinals. He must have had a really great skate!! :) :bow:

Junior Men Freeskate
Weintraub-strong triple lutz combo, plus 4 other nice triples, good power
Cassar-great spins and edges, triple loop was most difficult triple for him, plus sals and toes
Mafazy-got two 1st place marks, triple flip combo huge, plus another triple combo and 2 other triples

Westfall and Woolwine were very close. Lots of falls by Woolwine .

Weintraub landed a triple axel in the short program!
He seems to be training well now that he is with Callahan.

All the Junior men were very good and will probably do very well at Sectionals. Very clean jumps from Weintraub and Mafazy in the freeskates put them as my favorites overall.

Ken Workings withdrew because he cut his leg at the practice sesion and had to receive stitiches

Thanks for the report. I'm really happy to hear that David is with RC. Good move! I think David will really benifit from having someone take control of his training. He is so talented. He is also a really gutsy skater. He is willing to take risks. I hope sectionals are good for him. Good luck David and all the other men.
