Well we still don't know dates and times, but according to the CBC web site, here's what they're planning to show this season.
Competitions (http://www.cbc.ca/newtvseason/television/sports.html):
~ Lalique, Cup of Russia, and NHK
~ Four Continents
~ Junior Worlds (yay!)
~ Senior Worlds
Shows: (http://www.cbc.ca/newtvseason/television/music.html)
~ Isabelle and Lloyd's Farewell
~ CSOI
~ Holiday Festival on Ice
No listing yet for Gotta Skate IV, which surprised me ... but then again they only did a 1 hour broadcast of this last year so I'm just as happy to watch the 2-hour version on NBC.

Lalique, Cup of Russia, and NHK I guess I'll get to see Rochette's GP events afterall! :) I was extrememly disappointed that she wasn't being sent to Skate Canada b/c I thought that would have been the only opportunity to see her new programs before Nationals.
~ Junior Worlds (yay!) I'm looking forward to this too. I've never seen a junior-level competition before so it should be interesting.

Thanks for the info. :) I was scouring the CBC website last night for the times but to no avail. We only get three hours each, but after having absolutely no coverage in the past, I'll take what I can get. Hopefully they'll show the Canadians no matter how they place, but with only 3 hours for 4 divisions I think we'll just be getting the medallists. Then again, CBC doesn't seem to have the same penchant for fluff pieces or constantly flashing the overall standings as CTV so they might be able to squeeze in an extra skate or two.
let's hope someone will cover the GPF.

I think CBC might yet, even if it's a bit behind. I remember in their original announcement for this season they made no mention of Cup of China yet they're showing it on Nov. 27. So I'm guessing that we'll get Cup of Russia the GPF as well but they won't give the dates until December. At least, I hope we get them. (it would be wierd to show most of the GP but then forgo the Final).

Ok, we now have dates for a couple of the specials:
- Wed. Dec 8 Kurt's Gotta Skate IV 9:00 pm
- Wed. Dec 15 Holiday Festival on Ice 9:00 pm
- Sun. Dec 26 Holiday Festival on Ice 7:00 pm
- Thur. Dec 30 Kurt's Gotta Skate IV 7:00 pm
I know that the Dec 8 broadcast of Kurt's Gotta Skate IV will only be 1 hour, but I'm hoping the Dec 30 broadcast will be the full 2-hour version that will be on NBC.
Still no word on a schedule for CSOI or Isabelle & Lloyd's farewell, though.

^ OMG, 1 hour?!? That totally sucks! And I don't suppose they'll be smart and make sure they show all the programs that weren't shown on the US SOI broadcast. :frus:

If SRC broadcast CSOI, maybe we'll get lucky and have a little more programs since it will probably be 1h30-2h long....

Don't be surprised if SRC's coverage is different, epecially if they do some interviews like they did for Kurt's show. (pitty they didn't think of interviewing Mr Browning himself. )
I don't think the CBC has shown two different versions of a particular skating show in the past. Well, at least if you're able to pull in a U.S. signal, somehow, you'll have all the bases covered.
Does anyone know if the Montreal Herbie and Fred show was videotaped? (did anyone there see Cameras?) They shot the kitchener show but I'm curious if maybe they shot the Montreal show for the French Market. The lineup was also slightly different.

Thanks, everyone! I've been looking for information about CBC's skating broadcast schedule (especially their eligible skating schedule) for quite some time. It looks like we'll be getting the same amount of GP event coverage as during the "good old days" when CTV Sportsnet used to broadcast skating every Saturday night. I don't know why CBC can't do the same considering they don't exactly have more...ahem...important sports to cover in that timeslot this year, but at least it's much better than no coverage at all! :D
I can't imagine why CBC wouldn't broadcast the GPF since it's the only major competition not already on their (or CTV/TSN's) schedule right now...and especially if coughmorethanonecanadianskaterqualifiesforthisyear sgpfcough.

I'm disappointed by the much-shortened CSOI timeslot this year, too (especially considering CBC had a two-hour timeslot for their last couple of CSOI broadcasts), but not as disappointed as I would have been in past years. Last winter's A&E broadcast did do a wonderful job at showing most of last year's US SOI show, and since there wasn't as much Canadian content in the last CSOI tour as in past years (at least as far as group numbers are concerned), I can't think of too many CSOI group numbers that were much different than the ones on the US tour or solos not already included on the A&E broadcast or other shows. I won't be happy if CBC chacks Kurt's "Time In A Bottle" or S&P's "Ballroom" program (the one program I can think of that was chacked from the A&E broadcast), though!
And as disappointed as I am by the fact all of CBC's skating show broadcasts seem to be only 60 minutes long this year, at least they do make an effort at cramming as much skating as humanly possible into that short timeslot - and if you're a fan of Kurt, Elvis, S&P, Brian Orser or any other pro Canadian skater, at least CBC usually does a good job at including most of the numbers featuring those skaters in their broadcast.
Don't be surprised if SRC's coverage is different, epecially if they do some interviews like they did for Kurt's show. (pitty they didn't think of interviewing Mr Browning himself. )
There's some speculation on one of the Kurt mailing lists I belong to that the reason why SRC didn't interview Kurt at the end of their Gotta Skate broadcast (something they're usually quite good about doing whenever they broadcast an event featuring Kurt) was because he was busy doing something for the CBC or NBC broadcasts. I guess we'll have to wait and see whether this is true.

CBC does still have B&E's farewell show listed on their website, so hopefully that means they will plan to broadcast it sometime this year! I just hope that show, at least, will get longer than a 60-minute timeslot. Someone also mentioned a DVD release of the show in the "Show Reviews" forum here. :)
SRC does plan to broadcast both CSOI and B&E's show, but as far as I know, they haven't announced an exact date for either yet. I'm willing to bet they'll show both in a longer timeslot than English CBC, though, so that's reason enough to tune in, IMO!

For those who watched (or are watching) the CBC coverage of NHK -- what was shown in the first 20 minutes? I got home late, and didn't see anything prior to Pang and Tong.
Thanks!
During CBC's broadcast yesterday, they listed the following broadcast dates for eligible competitions:
Nov. 27 - Cup Of China
Dec. 4 - Trophee Eric Bompard
Jan 1 & 8 - Grand Prix Final
March 5 - Junior Worlds
March 4 - Four Continents
March 14-20 - World Championships
I'm a bit concerned that we won't get a lot of coverage of Junior Worlds and Four Continents since they were listed on the same date.
