Hmmm, it doesn't mention who will replace Michelle Kwan. I believe the USFSA can decide who to invite, as they are the organizing federation - and they are also allowed to have 3 entries in each discipline. I wouldn't be surprised if Kimmie Meissner gets the nod.

Meissner cannot do Skate America because she has competed on the JGP circuit. Only pair teams are allowed to do both the JGP and SGP in the same year.

Can anyone explain why there is no replacement for Michelle?

It actually appears as if no one is replacing Michelle. That's not a complete surprise, since at this point, no one else may be able to get ready in time.
