K & O retiring!

According to Daphne at ice-dance (www.ice-dance.com) ,Anjelika Krylova and Oleg Ovsyannikov are retiring from skating,and will contend with coaching and choreography.Bummer,big-time!Oh well,I guess it was inevitable,considering her back injuries.They could have quit 4 years ago,so I guess we're lucky.I'm just glad of the drama and beauty they shared with us for all these 10 years.

but I kind of thought they'd pretty much retired already?

That's how I look at it too...we are all so fortunate that someone's passion becomes something we can all enjoy so very much!

I've missed seeing them since they were with SOI.

They were among the best ever, IMHO. That 1999 Free was technically the most magnificent thing I've ever seen...I will never forget them.

Thanks for the information. It doesn't surprise me because Angelika performed with Nutcracker on Ice last year and toured to Australia with them. So when you see a skater starting to branch out into other projects you kind of suspect they might be moving away from the partnership.

But best wishes to them both - they were a great team!!
