Hello,

I just saw on the MK Fourm that they were making up MK practice reports involving Michelle's new program. It was kind of neat reading these fake reports, almost like seeing a new program in the off season. So, I thought it would be interesting to try the same thing with other skaters. I suppose it can be done with professionals, also. :D Be creative and remember this is all in fun!! 8-)

I love stuff like this. Anyways, I have several programs in mind. I've made music cuts and everything in the past. My most recent one though is to Final Fantasy X. You can download my cut of it here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Figure_Skating101/

Join the club and download the one that says "FFX ending theme" the file name is "Copy of Nobuo Uematsu - Ending Themefinal2.mp3"

Once you listen, here's my program rundown

- at the :17, I see a solid lutz
- at :33, I see a flip/toe combo
- at :44, I see a double axel
- at :48, I see a nice and lengthy camel-sit-scratch spin combo
- at 1:13, I see a sal
- at 1:27, I see a loop
- at 1:38, I see a layback
- at 1:51, I see sculling
- at 1:55, I see a circular footwork sequence
- at 2:20, I see an Ina Baur
- at 2:33, I see two possibilities. You could do a whole spiral sequence here, OR a Russian Split into a nice serpentine pattern where a COE(IE first) spiral follows at 3:02.
- at 3:02, barring that you don't do the spiral, I see that back one foot glide that Michelle does with her hand down on a deep edge. I think she did it in tosca before her footwork.
- at 3:33 I see a lutz/toe (3/3)
- at 3:47, I see a sal/toe
- at 4:02, I see an Ina Baur here too(if it isn't done earlier) OR I just see a lot of edge work with turns and gliding OR just your typical combo spin at the end.

It seems front loaded, I know, but the gorgeous music inbetween shouldn't be wasted on jumps.

Thing is, when you think of what it'd take the skate the program, it'd combine some strengths of our top ladies. It'd take Sasha to do the spins well, and do the russian split before the serpentine footwork, as well as the spiral sequence if you didn't do the serpentine footwork. She'd also be able to pull the footwork off nicely. She also does sculling pretty well. Her jumps if consistent would look beautiful. Michelle's COE spiral would be great in there as well as that back gliding thing I already noted. She'd do a decent job at footwork too. Shiz's 3/3 capabilities would work(if she could pull off a solid 3/3 late). Then some superior edging would work which are Michelle and Shiz's strong points.

All in all, I can't assign this program to just one skater.

Also, the cut is 4:17, but you can speedy the music up a tad I think to get it to 4:10.

This seemed like so much fun, I thought I'd give it a try:

I was walking into my local rink early in the morning and was surprised to see somebody already on the ice. Curiously I walked over to the sign-in sheet and saw that none other than Evgeny Plushenko had signed up for the all level session. After putting on my skates I opened up the rink to see him take an opening position, with Mishin by a portable boom box. I suppose he was practing in his new costume, this is what it looked like. He was wearing all black. Gloves included. But he had unusual pink boot covers on his boots. Mishin called, "Ready!!? For the short program?", in a strong Russian accent, and Evgeny nodded and took his pose. He turned to face where the judges would sit and put his hands in front of his face, palms outward, fingers extended. After some crackling from the boom box, a badly recorded version of the X-Files theme song began. He slowly removed his hands to reveal a sneer. He did a forward three-turn and then back crossovers to set up his first jump combination. After gaining speed he smoothly executed a quadruple toe-half loop-quadruple flip. As the music built he came around the corner and dramatically thrust his leg up, doing an inside to outside edge biellmann spiral. He stopped at the other end of the rink and began to do fast straightline footwork. The footwork had a lot of toe stomping and he stopped in the middle to sneer, turning around on a full circle on his toes, before preceeding on. Immediatley from the footwork, he launched himself into a flawless quadruple axel (clean, of course  ). Next came his bagel spin, immediatley followed by a sit change sit. It was an unusual sit spin, where his hands grasped his neck, then his stomach on the change. As he exits the spin, the music changed to "the pink panther". He stops and dances in front of the judges, with arms at his sides going up and down. He starts doing backward sculling away from the judges. Slowly at first and then building up speed into the lutz corner. After a smooth quadruple lutz, he moves into circular footwork, arms flailing. Lots of sneering and slinky moves. He stops in front of the judges and claws at the air and at them, like a cat. Then the music changes again to the X-Files. He turns and goes into his final combination spin. First a fast camel spin, then down to a low sit spin, (so low his leg scrapes the ice. Mishin nods in aproval by the sides.) then up into his beillmann, (only it's improved!! that it'd rival any rythimic gymnast). Next he changes to a back beillmann, illustrating the same flexibility and speed, then he changes again to a forward beillmann, and again to a back beillmann. He ends with a blurred back scratch spin so fast he drills a hole into the ice, snow flying everywhere. The music comes to a close and he clasps his throat again and falls to the ice, in a dramatic finish. The boom box next plays another bit of music, but Mishin quickly turns it off, Evgeny still laying on the ice. It looks stunning!! A true mesh of choreography and technical ability!! One of the great masterpieces of all time!!

Hope you enjoyed this!! It was so much fun to make up!! Remember though, it's fake. (If it's not obvious  )
