I know they were competed some time ago, but we Americans just got to see coverage (albeit crappy coverage) on the Lifetime cable network. The one skater that stood out to me (besides AP McDonough, who I think will be as big as MK) was Japan's Miki Ando. I only saw her SP and was truly amazed by her effortless edging and graceful presentation. Can't wait to see more of her!

Any thoughts?

I enjoyed all the ladies! I already love AP and I like Bebe! First time seeing Louann and she was much better than I expected...seems to have a solid foundation. I, too, enjoyed Miki Ando...loved her LP dress and she was much more graceful than I had imagined. I expected her to be a jumping bean, but she really isn't. It's her teammate that seems to be the bigger jumper, but with the most pronounced legwrap that I think I've ever seen. Still, I liked her too...Yukari Nakano...that is. And Tanith and Ben did very well and I love them! Wish we could've seen more pairs and men and dance too for that matter though!!!

ITA purplecat! I expected to see a jumping bean in Miki Ando and got a surprise when she came out and was not at all what I expected. I was drooling over her dress. The design on the front that ran down her back in a V was beautiful.

Overall it was great to see so many up and coming skaters. I only wish they had shown Vise&Ibarra. That would have been my first time seeing them skate and having heard good things about them it would have been nice to see them finally.

I enjoyed AP, but she needs to smile! Or at least look like she's enjoying herself.

I thought there was AP and everyone else. AP seemed head and shoulders above everyone else. And, I don't say that as an AP fan.

I thought ANDO should have been marked way down for that horrid wrapped leg. I have never seen anything like it. My daughter in law, who was watching with me, is a judge, and she was astounded that there was not a deduction on both the presentation and technical marks. I thought there were some lovely qualities to her skating, I couldn't get past that leg.
