ummmm...since there are billions of pieces of music perhaps you can give an idea of what kind of style you are looking for. Ex: classical or movie soundtrackish...something with piano, something orchestral etc.

um......i like stuff like jumpy and upbeat music, graceful (not like a ballet), maybe a little dramatic, i like a variation with slow and fast pieces in my program........some examples of wut i like is sasha cohen's program to "Carmen" and "Malaguena" and I like Michelle Kwan's "tosca" and other types. i dont like piano very much but i still do like Carolina Kostner's short program to "Song From a Secret Garden" though.

Too bad you don't like piano because "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" is a great piece.
Another one I like is "Art on Ice" by Edvin Marton- Totmianina and Marinin used it for their long last year.
"Schindler's List" soundtrack is pretty music- Carolina's long from 2002-03.
"The Red Violin" is pretty and dramatic.
"Song of the Black Swan" is great too- I love it, even though I'm not an MK fan!
Good luck finding music!

I agree that The Red Violin is something to listen to. It's a long movie, so there's a lot of music to choose from, and it's varied because of how the movie takes place. I won't go into detail and spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I'd highly recommend both the music and the movie- they're among my favorites.
My only other real suggestion is that you avoid pieces like Malaguena and Carmen that *everyone* skates to. Also, I think it's probably not a great idea to use the same or similar cuts of a piece that an elite skater has used recently. You probably don't want to a)invite an unflattering comparison, or b)look like you're just "copying your favorite skater".

just join that club then go to the files section and take a listen. I have other stuff too so PM me if you want to see what else I have. This applies to anyone else too.

I suggest the following:
Cuban Overture by George Gershwin
Alborada del Gracioso (orchestral version) by Ravel
Romanian Rhapsody No. 1 by Enescu
Any of the three pieces above could be edited into a great program.
Look for jazz recordings by Django Reinhardt. (The only person I've seen skate to his music so far is Stephane Lambiel. There are so many different styles of jazz in Django's discography and so many great, unused pieces for skating!)
Get the CD Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop if you like hard rock.
I would also suggest getting lots of CD's by Emerson Lake and Palmer and Santana.
If you have a public library where you can borrow classical and jazz (or even popular) CD's, you should try borrowing lots of different things.
I am building a web page and eventually it will have skating music suggestions on it.

We had a thread going on in here earlier in the summer about music you'd love to see skated to. Can't quite remember what the name of the thread was though. You should be able to find it by doing a search of the site though. There were a lot of suggestions in it for music.

I used to skate to the soundtrack of "Far and Away" and got lots of compliments on the music from the judges.

If you like Carmen, you might try the L'Arlesienne Suites (especialy #2), which are also by Bizet. They're slightly less commonly used than Carmen.
Another classic is the Planets, which is great skating music, but some parts are way overused.
