Putnam & Wirtz have now confirmed they have left Paul Wirtz and are training fulltime in Hackensack with Artur Dimitriev.

Should prove to be interesting.

Well, I hope that this is a positive move for them. Hopefully, Dimitriev can help them with lifts and twist. However, I am not sure if he will be much help with the death spiral ;). (Remember - the sack of potatoes?)

Their death spiral in their first month together was better than Artur's ever was. :?? But there are lots of other places where he can help them out.
I think this will be a great move for them. Paul Wirtz is a great coach for developing up-and-coming skaters, and I'm sure it was a comfortable place for Sean in particular, but for skaters with this much potential I think they they need to move on. I actually think they should have done it a year or two earlier.

Well Hallujuah!! It's about time!!
Maybe now they can improve their lifts and their twist. Paul really had taken them as far as he could. I'm *really* looking forward to Cdns now.

They need help with the 'strength' elements. Artur also has the key to performance focus.

The latest BOI online update includes a paragraph about P&W's new programs:
On the ice was the Canadian pair Elizabeth Putnam and Sean Wirtz. "We moved from Toronto because we had some family problems", Putnam said. "This season we want to qualify for Worlds. Our new short program is to music of the Russian waltz, "My Tender and Affectionate Beast", our new long to the classical version of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." Katia Gordeeva used it with Sergei Grinkov when they became Olympic Champions for the second time in 1994. She saw our program in Newington and liked it very much. It reminded her of Sergei."
Very interesting music choices (especially the LP!) Does anyone know which choreographer P&W are working with this season?

Thanks, SkaterBrett! I hoped Moskvina would be their choreographer (I could definitely see P&W skating programs similar to the wonderful work Moskvina's done with B&S!), but it'll be interesting to find out how they'll adapt to Morosov's style. :)
