I was inspired to start this topic after a stupid mistake I made today. This afternoon, I decided to pop my "You Must Remember This" tape in the VCR to help get through skating withdrawal this summer, watched a little, then turned it off for awhile.
And then...I don't know how it happened, but somehow I managed to tape over about half of the tape with, of all things, an episode of "The Simple Life." (a show I don't even watch, for crying out loud!) :evil: :frus:
I'm just grateful I do have a second copy of "You Must Remember This" on another tape--since it's my all-time favorite skating special, I figured I'd better make a "backup copy" in case something like this happened someday. And right now, I'm very grateful I did!
I've had VCRs chew up far too many skating tapes over the years, but this is the first time I've ever made a stupid mistake like this. Has anyone else ever "lost" a favorite skating event or performance for one reason or another (either by accidentally taping over it, the tape getting eaten or another reason entirely?)
I just needed to share this sad story with fellow skating fans who'll understand...although if something like this had to happen, I'm relieved it happened to the one skating special I actually have a backup copy of! :)
