I saw for the first time at 2002 Nats, competing in both pairs and singles. Her presentation was just lovely. She also won a Chevy scholarship. Last I heard, she ended her partnership. I am hoping she devotes herself to singles because I think she could do very well. Thanks for any info you may have.

Jennifer will be on the JGP in singles this fall. I saw her hanging around with her new pairs partner, Jon Hunt, at Liberty Open last weekend. I think she's training at UDel with him and as far as I know they are planning on skating senior pairs at US Nationals this season. I have no idea what she's doing for singles (jr or senior) and I am not sure which club she's representing or what regional/sectional she'll be at. Any info would be much appreciated.

I think Jennifer is planning on skating at the senior level in singles--I seem to remember hearing that she passed her senior test recently, but maybe I'm remembering wrong? At any rate, it would be pretty unusual these days for a junior ladies medalist [i:d009b150dc]not[/i:d009b150dc] to move up--especially one who's going to be 18 this year--but I guess it's not impossible.

Yes, Jennifer Don passed her senior freestyle test recently, and, last I heard, hopes to make her competitive pair debut with Jonathon Hunt at the Indy Pairs Challenge, August 16-18. So far, she has been assigned to one JGP in singles -- in Belgrade, Yugoslavia in mid-September. I believe she may have switched back to representing her old club in Houston, TX, but will compete in South Atlantic Regionals in singles (because Hunt represents the Univ. of Delaware FSC and a USFSA rule allows this).

On a lighter note, I think Jennifer Don has outdone even Nicole Bobek in terms of most distance covered in least number of years.

1999-- Houston
2000-- Cape Cod
2001-- Las Vegas
2002-- Newark, Del.

Shall we start taking bets on where she'll be for 2003? :D

OK - don't shoot me - I'm only kidding! - Hope she gets to stay in a spot for more than one year! 8)

good grief, Ms. Don needs to develop some roots! Maybe She will hang around Delaware for a while. She has a great partner in Jonathan and I hope the two of them stick together.

In fairness to Jennifer, her last two relocations were for pairs partners, so she's not just hopping around at random like Nicole did. I think it's amusing, though, that Jennifer has basically covered the entire country in the past three years. It shows a lot of determination to succeed.

I second that! I am not the biggest fan of Jenny, but there is no way anyone can deny that the girl is DRIVEN! She and her mom are basically chasing dreams right now and I really have to hand it to both of them for having the courage to go for it. I hope she gets what she wants, she is certainly working hard for it.

I'm grateful for the USFSA rule then - it'll be nice seeing her for the first time at Souths and possibly Easterns. :)
