My sources tell me IFS is back in business - with a new editor and publisher - both professionals. The August issue of the magazine will be out within the next 2 weeks, if not before. The new people are intending to revamp the magazine and change the format over time. All subscribers will be getting their copy and the subsequent issues owing on their subscriptions. Customer service WILL exist for the first time!

If these people are truly pros, then they need to contact current subscribers and let us know what the current situation is and what they plan to do about it.

I hope this is true. Oddly enough, I've never had any problems with IFS. I have had problems with BOI & with Skating altho both were polite & helpful in straightening these out. There was a newspaper that was called Skating World, I think, that went kaput when the editor died. No refunds were issued.

I too was deprived of my American Skating World subscription value, but I was even more annoyed that there was no explanation of any kind as to what happened. Nothing on the Internet, not in other skating mags either as I recall. I liked that paper a lot and still miss it. It was a very long time before I found out why that publication folded.

I received the July/Aug. issue of IFS yesterday. Roz Sumners is on the cover. The new interim editor's letter states that they will continue publication so everyone should be receiving the current issue within the next day or two.
Snoopyskate: I'm sure I read about Am.Skg.World's editor death from Aids on the Internet. He was very ill over the last several months of his life.
