I've finally made a hotel reservation for Skate Canada in Halifax - I chose Cambridge Suites (just a short walk from HMC) and Studio Queen Gold (https://res.cambridgesuiteshalifax.com/v1web/RoomInfo.asp?WCI=ShowInfo&RmCode=NSQG) type of room.
