ok. the competitiors are posted. junior is the hot deal in that the remaining internaiton jgp assignments will be made based on the performances/results of this copetition.
now, someone please explain to me how frisch/bomentre or russell/metzger can get a second international assignment if they are only competing in the compulsories? why are these two experienced teams only able to do one of the three events to "qualify" for additional international assignments?
or have the rules of selection changed yet again?

It's my understanding that not every JGP selection is going to be made prior to the start of the JGP competitions this year. I know at least one competitor has been told that they will get a second event IF they do well enough in their first event, at any rate. I would imagine these teams don't need to worry about competing at Lake Placid, they need to worry about placing reasonably well in their first JGP event in order to get a second one. IMO that's not a bad way to make the selections.

ok. but why, then, would they take the time to compete at lake placid at all? wouldn't their time be better used at home training for their initial jgp competition?

Maybe they want to get their programs out there, get competition experience, and have some feedback from the judges.

they aren't doing their programs. they're only registered for the compulsories.

Is anyone going who could post reports or results? Last year LP was real slow on posting results.
Am particularly interested in how the following teams skate:
Solomon & Cohen (Junior)
Scheumann & McCullough (Junior) (I may have spelling wrong on her last name)
McCullough & Deer (Novice)

Based on the ISU announcement, I don't think the USFSA can wait until the first rounds of JGPs are over before making decisions on who will go and that they will use the LP results to fill in the vacant assignments, but they could wait until later in August after the Huntsville NAC and the JGP in Courchevel, France to decide.

Look for any events results on the Show Reviews, Events Discussion & Results (http://www.acforums.homeip.net/viewforum.php?f=4) page.

Actually, they can wait until August 25 to name the Montreal entries, September 2 for Bratislava, September 9 for Chemnitz, September 16 for Beijing, and September 29 for Milan. All of these dates are after at least one event has been held--in fact, four events will have been held by the Milan deadline, so there's plenty of opportunity for skaters who do well in the first 3 or 4 events to be named to one of the later ones.

And they can also name skater A and then skater B,C,D,E .... as a substitute skaters. They should do it in every event and then switched the skaters just before the start of the event.
