Where can i find skating apparel in washington DC?

I'm in washington for the summer to train, and i need to get more skating skirts, dresses, tights, etc. Does anybody know where i can find a skating store in the columbia/DC/baltimore/virginia/annapolis (hehe:lol:, really anywhere)? Your help would be really appreciated!!!!

In my experience, the shop next to the Benfield Ice Arena has the best selection. I think they're called Maryland Sporting Goods?

I second manleywoman's suggestion. The store has a great selection. If you can't get to that store (located off I-97 - I think it's exit 10B), the Columbia rink (rink street is off of Rt. 175) has a pro shop. I've never been inside, but I noticed it when I was at that rink watching a test session a few weeks ago. There is also a fairly large pro shop at the Gardens rink in Laurel, which I've only seen from the outside, but I did see quite a few dresses in there. Skater's Paradise in Alexandria, VA (in a shopping center diagonally across the street from the Mt. Vernon rink) has a few dresses and tights, but it's a small space and their selection is limited.

Well, the Bowie Ice Rink has a little shop where they sell skates, tights, costumes. etc. They don't reopen until next week though(you can bet I'm foaming at the mouth to get back out on the ice after not much time since MARCH!!)... I think it's call maryland sporting goods as well. Here's a couple of numbers. People should be able to direct you from either one: 301-249-0755 or 301-262-6200. Hope that helps.

Fairfax Ice Arena has a skating shop as well.

IIRC, the Bowie rink had quite a selection of dresses, but I don't know if they were just there temporarily.

Maryland Sporting Goods has three stores in MD, one at Benfield Pines Ice Arena, one at Piney Orchard Ice Arena, and one at Bowie Ice arena. I think the goal is to move most of the figure skating supplies to Bowie Ice arena, but I know that as of a few months ago(the last time I was there) Piney Orchard had a pretty good selection also. The phone number for Piney Orchard is 410-672-7013. They should be able to direct you.

Granted it's not convenient to Maryland, but near Fairfax Ice Arena there is a store called Art Stone - they (at times) have a good selection of dresses. I don't really pay much attention to the sizes, other than small childrens, but I have seen them.

ACK! i cant find any of the times for when the stores are open! :roll: :frus: :lol: could someone please help me? I'm thinking of going to the bowie ice arena one first, since it seems like it has the best selection, then depending on how much stuff i find, i may or may not look somewhere else. Again your, help would be appreciated. :oops:
