I find it interesting that Shantel and Jeremy are Team B but can't compete internationally for the US for several years. As Jr. Nat'l Champs, they are automatically placed there but it seems odd that they are taking that space without the ability to compete internationally.

Too bad, too. They are an excellent pair team. I am anxious to see them compete with our top Sr. Pairs.

Jordan/Barrett will be competing in the junior pairs event of the North American Challenge Skate in Canada in August (no age restrictions for NACS).

I know! They will be skating Sr Pairs at Nationals too.

They are not eligible for ISU events, however. And by the time she's old enough for Jr Events, he'll be ineligible!

How old is this team? Must be a huge age difference.

Shantel Jordan will turn 12 in August, and Jeremy Barrett just turned 20 last month.

As Jr. Nat'l Champs, they are automatically placed there [Team B] but it seems odd that they are taking that space without the ability to compete internationally.

The team envelopes are primarily for funding purposes and do not necessarily correlate to international assignments. From the Athlete Support section of the USFSA site:
"The U.S. Figure Skating Athlete Support (ASUPP) Fund is one that financially supports the U.S. Team Envelope Athletes by assisting them with their skating expenses. Members are selected by the International Committee Management Subcommittee and will be notified of their nomination."

So why did Palmer/ Stucke get passed over and Koob-Doddy/Antonelli got an envelope? I thought maybe it was because she is too old for JGP but if Shantel is too young it doesn't make sense.
