What would you like Dubreuil and Lauzon to skate to for their free dance next season? They are open to suggestions so I'll be forwarding this info to them.

Something softer. Nothing opera. But my favourite number they have done for all time was, "Life is Beautiful". Many people feel the same way. It softened the two of them. Obviously they are really good with lifts, but I want them twirling and dancing. How about a real fun cha cha? Or have them both in white and soft. Their exhibition number recently when she was the bird was simply amazing and it showed a connection between the two and really cast a spell on the audience. They need to leave the audience with that same feeling. They have great skill and great talent, their programs are just lacking.

I agree with dale, softer and elegant would be amazing to see from Marie-France and Patrice. They have a lot of passion in their skating and between them, I would love to see that come through in a romantic way rather than such a dramatic way. Don't get me wrong, they are one of the few teams that can skate the dramatic themes well, but I think it would be awesome to see something a little softer, and for lack of a better word a little more "real."
I think if they let their mutual love and respect shine in a free dance, they audience would have a whole new appreciation for what D&L are really about, technically, artistically and personally, and they would mezmorize and entire building in a whole new way - I would bet you could hear a pin drop! I am thinking of "Bolero" and "Love Story" calibre. IMO!

Maybe something like soundtracks from Audrey Hepburn movies....it could be very dancy, something along the lines of Bourne & Kraatz' "High Society"

"life is beautiful" was also my favorite FD from D&L. I loved their "L-O-V-E" OD of 2001. Something softer, slower, more lyrical, even a little sexy that highlights their wonderful edges & line, their passion & romantic interaction on the ice. They should definitley stay away from anything like this years OD rhythm.

Well, a lot of great musical selections have already been posted at the "Music For Next Year" thread at the General Skating Talk forum if you'd like to take a look:
http://www.skatingforums.com/showthread.php?t=13603
Of all the music suggestions posted on that thread, I think either the LOTR or Troy soundtracks would be best suited for D&L--both soundtracks contain lots of exciting dramatic music (which D&L do wonderfully!), but not too over-the-top dramatic (which I think too many ice dancers have become nowadays).
BTW, "Life Is Beautiful" is still my all-time favorite D&L program, too. ITA if they could come up with something along those lines (with the added difficulty in lifts and footwork they're capable of today), it would definitely set them apart from their competitors and move them up in the world rankings next season. :)
But whatever FD music D&L choose for next season, I think it's wonderful they're willing to accept suggestions from fans! Best of luck to them next year!
I may be in the minority here, but I don't want to see them skate to yet another piece of romantic music. Sorry, they've been doing for a long time and I think it's time for a change. My fave program of theirs was The Last Temptation-that was a great program and drew great reviews; if they could skate to something along those lines, maybe they would finally see the results they are seeking.

I must say I always liked their "Life is Beautiful". But it was a rainy day here in Calgary today and I brought out some of my old skating tapes - one of them from 1990 Worlds in Halifax. Watching "Missing" by the Duchenays, Marie-France and Patrice immediately came to mind to do something like that.
