Skate Canada expands national team

Aside from it being a good thing to give more skaters international experience, I'm looking forward to seeing a greater variety of Canadian skaters during the early part of the season. (Or at least I would be ... if CTV/TSN hadn't decided to decimate their grad prix coverage. Here's hoping we'll be able to catch it somehow!)

Thanks, Artemis! IIRC, CBC will include at least a few GP events as part of their new skating coverage deal. Exactly which events they'll show hasn't been confirmed yet and I'm not sure they'll broadcast every single one, but at least it looks like Canada will get at least a little more GP event coverage than last year. Skate Canada will still be broadcast on CTV/TSN, of course. :)

This is great news for Chris Mabee if it means that now the top 6 will get funding from SC.

Thank you for reminding me that Skate Canada will still be on CTV/TSN! Looking forward to Tracy Wilson, Debbi Wilkes, even Rod Black. CBC did a good job of Worlds, but Barb & Paul's commentary was horrid. If I didn't need to hear the music I'd watch on mute!

But, back to the original topic....glad to see the national teams expanded! More opportunities for some younger, starting-out skaters! Looking forward to Skate Canada already! :)
