I wish they'd have more than 6 in ladies and men events. We seem to be getting the same old-same old for the ladies, with the exception of Ando. How about inviting Katy Taylor and Kimmie Meissner, or even better, some more European skaters?

I can see why you might think it's same-old, but I see several names that haven't participated in this event before.

Ando
Lysacek
Inoue and Baldwin

I don't think Johnny Wier has been in the Spring event before and I'm quite sure that Joubert hasn't been in this event either. Other possible new names for this event are Siguri, even Pluschenko, although I'm not sure on those two.

I'm quite happy to let the "Junior" skaters come on a little more slowly. By the time they are included you will be thinking that they are "same-old"

Only one new skater in each discipline - that's what I mean by same old, same old... I would really like to have the opportunity to see more of the European skaters. And what about the Canadians?

I thought Goebel was out for the rest of the season due to either boot problems or physical problems or both. I find it strange that he'd be in this competition unless something has majorly changed since his withdrawal at nationals.

I can't believe that this event is going to be 12 miles from my front door, but due to work/toddler, I'm gonna miss it. :frus:

Goebel is under contract to the USFSA to do these events. They pay him quite a bit of money so of course he's going to show up to collect his check.

Why complain about who the USFSA invites? Complaints should be directed to SkateCanada & the foreign federations for not hosting these fluff competitions as well.

It looks like Shizuka has been added to the roster. Here's the USFSA link.
