Seems like the U.S. teams have lots going on how about the Canadians. Has anyone heard any updates? any music choices? how programs are going? new teams? Splits etc. Who will get the remaining JGP's! I heard a rumor that Skate Canada might have to change one of the original assignments, can anyone confirm anything. Thanks.

Smiley, Do you know what happened? That's sad news, I heard so many good things about G&Y. What will happen with the JGP they had can it be reassigned to another team? Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about G&Y but I had a gut feeling that they'd never last past juniors anyway, cause he is nearly a foot taller than she is and IMHO you just can't have that big of a height difference in dance.

Good luck to both of them, finding new partners and continuing with their careers.

I heard the same about Girard but she is short as well, if it was a hieght issue you would think he would find a better match. I thought G&Y looked great on TV coverage of Jr. Nats.

It actually doesn't matter if there's that much of a height difference if you're good enough. Marie-France and Patrice have a really big height difference for a dance team but you don't really notice it when they're skating.

wow, what unfortunate news! this team had excellent chemistry on the ice and seemed to have just gotten that polish which is necessary to succeed in icedance. i don't think it was a height thing, but i hope that they both find suitable partners and continue to skate.

It does matter when you have to go up against teams that are good skaters and a good match. Marie-France and Patrice are doing well but I think they will always find it difficult to take it to the next level given that they are not that well matched. This will continue to get in the way. There will be teams that continue to come along that are good skaters and matched physically and from what I see coming there are some moving into the senior ranks now and there will continue to be more over the next few years. Physical matches play a role, it's part of dance in my opinion.

I know physical matches play a role in dance, and although Patrice is quite a bit taller than Marie-France, I still think they're a good match. Height is only one thing to consider in a match. (and hey, I remember in pre-novice a few years ago there was a team where the girl was taller than the guy and I didn't think they were that great of a match to begin with, but it didn't seem to hurt their placings at all)

Anyways, I'm also really surprised that Sabrina and Bradley split up and am interested in knowing why.... :?:
