First question...why was Oksana not in the opening number on A&E? Is she usually in it?

Second question and yes--I know this is sort of an odd question but I'm too curious to worry about sounding weird: Do the guys have to remove their skates for every costume change or are the pants specially constructed for skaters?

I believe the opening numbers were done without the guest stars appearing in the different stops of the show...I guess it was easier to do it that way rather than having to teach the 6 guest stars the opening number. Kristi and Paul were not in the opening number of the Philly show, if memory serves me correctly.

Your second question is a good one that I don't have an answer to but will be curious to see if anyone "in the know" has an answer to!

Concerning the trousers in this special case I don't know. But from a documentary about Torvill & Dean I know that their costume designer redid their bolero costumes and used such trousers which can be changed without having to take the skates off. And I think the same concept was used all the time for Chris' costumes afterwards....

Most guys skating pants that I've seen, you have to take your skates off to change them, but probably for a show like SOI if they have quickchanges, they make them so they don't have to.

Thanks for your responses. I hope SOI has a great year. I certainly enjoyed what I saw on A&E.

Another question for anyone who was at the Lake Placid show: what was the attendance like? It looked from the TV broadcast that there were huge blocks of empty seats.

The Lake Placid show was not a "sell out" as it has been in years gone by. In addition, that day there was rather a nasty snow storm that may have kept some people away - our drive down from Ottawa was not fun but we made it!
