Stars on ice was on a&e last night and was it fabulous!
Billings, dean and hamilton did a great job on this show, I think it is one of their best:0)

It was very good but I was really disappointed that they didn't show Jamie & David's ballroom program. :( Oh well, maybe they'll show it for the Canadian tour.

I taped it and plan to watch it over the weekend.
I'm disappointed to hear that "Ballroom" wasn't included! Oh well, at least I saw it live!

I just saw SOI in person Saturday night but it was fun to re-live it last night on A&E, and also to see the show from different angles. I love Chris Dean's choreography and Jef Billings did a great job on the costumes, as always. The ladies' dresses were gorgeous!

To anyone's knowledge here, has Jamie & David's ballroom program been shown at anytime on any TV program this season?
As an example, B&S's pair routine Glinka was shown on the A&E broadcast, but not their other routine. However, I do believe that was shown early this year, or late last year in a pro competition.
Got to say I was real disappointed S&P's ballroom program was not n the A&E broadcast.

It was shown in Great Britain and in Germany :)
Edited to add: This is no joke.

It (Jamie & David's ballroom number) might be shown on the CSOI broadcast, which will come late in the fall, but it's a program unique to SOI so it's unlikely it will appear anywhere else. Yet one more argument for making DVDs of the show!
As for the A&E broadcast -- and the show itself -- I agree that it was one of the better ones in recent years. I did have some quibbles with their editing choices though. Like 2 programs for each of Scott and Oksana, the guests, but only 1 for each of the regular cast members. Sure, Scott and Oksana weren't in the integrated ensemble numbers, but I'd still rather see more of the regular cast. Especially instead of Oksana's 2 programs which, although lovely, we'd seen at least twice already this year.
And sheesh, enough with the fluff already! I guess they wanted to get milage out of the pieces they put together for that so-called best of cheezefest from earlier this year, but c'mon. They could have show at least 2 more programs without all of that.

I agree that though the show was pretty good there was too much fluff, and I would also have liked to see the routines of the other cast members instead of 2 of Scott/Oksana.
General comments: At first I liked the time concept and the idea of having little performances between the performances to make it seamless. But after a couple the "time performances" got a little cheesy. Don't know if it was the outfits or what, but I am not sure it added anything to the show for me.
I used to love Scott, and though I still definitely appreciate his contribution to the sport, I am sort of tired of him this year. I don't know if it is the SOI infomercial on NBC and the little infomercial spots on the A & E broadcast that have bugged me. Or if it is that his routines are so much the same. He is a wonderful performer, but I just don't get as much out of his performances now.
Jenni Meno and Todd Sand bore me. I can't watch many of their performances because they just bore me. With all of the turnover in SOI, those are two skaters I would not miss a whole lot if they chose to quit touring.
The rest of the pairs are top notch, and are good for the show, but overall I still feel it is too pairs heavy. Even with the guest stars, I still think they need another lead female, and possible a lead male like Kulik. Maybe if there were only 2-3 pairs it would be more balanced.

Yup, Jamie and Dave's Ballroom number was definitely shown in the broadcast of SOI which was shown here in Britain on Christmas Day. I actually put it up on Rinkside at the time so if you haven't seen it then it's probably kicking about over there. I'm still rather shocked that we've actually seen a number that hasn't been shown on US or Canadian tv, it must be a once in a lifetime occurrance, normally our pro coverage is terrible here!
