PAskate, thanks for the link!

I'd love to see Irina added to the mix at Worlds, but it doesn't sound likely, does it?

Schmeck, wishing Irina a complete recovery

Me too. But I think you are right.

Hope she'll be back at least next year.

I thought that Irina had already been named to the world team? Along with Volchkova and Sokolova? Am I missing something here? I thought she and Volchkova had already taken their test skates?

I am really excited to see Irina there too. But at the same time I am worried. I really hope that she is ready. But I have really missed her in competitions this season.

This will be interesting. It will either be the weakest Russian team in years (simply due to injuries, illness and a weak season) or they will be strong and provide a spoiler element to this years favoites.

It will be a challenge for Irina to skate before judges the first time at the hardest & longest competition of the year. It will be nice just to see her smile on the ice again. She is not one of my overall favorities, but I do enjoy and appreciate what she brings to the ice. Her determination to overcome is inspirational.

I'm wondering with all her downtime if she will have a new program or use one from the past. Does anyone know? The reason I'm asking is because from what I understand she has been sick for the better part of the last year.

I read elsewhere on the internet that Irina has at least one new program and it's supposed to be beautiful. Perhaps WVgal can help us out here? Does she post here?

Irina has two new programs.

SP: Introduction and Rondo capriccioso
LP: Queen of spades (Chororgaphed by Igor Borbin).

You can watch a clip of her SP at her site www.irina-slutskaya.com (Irina Slutskaya)
