Junior Ladies FINAL SP was the last event and I didn't have time to stay for results but I can guess that Jane Bugaeva, Alexandra Tregre, Kristina Moore, and Erica Archambault were probably the top 4. Sheaffer fell twice I think and so did Anna Peng. Other competitors included Hall, Jasinowski, Moehling, Mahon, Stewart, and Agler, so those are the 12 that made the final rounds of the SP....

As far as the other Junior Ladies who I thought might be factors in this competition from looking at the roster, Amy Bobrick, Katie Hadford, and I think Maggie Leski and Holly Ponichtera all withdrew. Not sure if those last 2 withdrew or just didn't qualify out of their group. Kristen Mita finished pretty far down in her group, Emily Hughes finished 5th in her group-- 1 spot shy of qualifying, and Ashley Lovasik didn't make it out of her group either. Oh well, there's always the FS groups tomorrow, then the final on Saturday.

Novice Ladies FINAL SP-
1Meissner, 2Zukowski, 3Houston, 4Ford, 5Webster, 6Lin, 7Ellis, 8Karson, 9Webb, 10Reidy, 11Malone, 12Crugnola, 13Miosi, 14Miosi, 15Zinsmeister, 16Lee, 17LaHurd, 18Mahon, 19 Wertz, 20Steckhan, 21Cummings

Novice Men SP (WED)
1Weintraub, 2Raney, 3 Eison, 4Nuss, 5Reeder, 6Elefante, 7Raad, 8Toth, 9Zinsmeister, 10Deavers, 11Holmes, 12Bricotto, 13Bergstrom-Croul, 14David, 15Goldman, 16Jones, 17Kovner

I don't have results or notes from the Novice Men FS but I heard it wasn't exactly an inspiring event...

Top 5 Intermediate Men FINAL SP were
1DeWulf, 2Carriere, 3Yost, 4Mott, 5Rippon

Intermediate Ladies FINAL SP
1.Kitsell, 2Cannarozzo, 3Traunero, 4Stricker, 5Gallegher, 6Gengler, 7Kinney, 8Drogseth, 9Flatt, 10Vicari, 11Lockhart, 12Naphtal, 13Beck, 14Solorio, 15Elkins, 16Bowker, 17Yee, 18Brock, 19Stout, 20DeRita, 21Sperling

Just wanted to mention thanks to all the people working at the Pond for posting the results in a timely fashion and for running the rink and competition so well. It seems well organized and I had a great time at the rink, no problems (except for no paper towels in the bathroom). :p Anyway its those people running the competition that make the results accessible to people, I just copy what they put up. :)

11 YR Skate-- I did write reports of the junior and novice pairs over at Unseen Skaters which is why I posted that link, but I will not force you to go there, so I'll repost it here...

JUNIOR PAIRS SP

1. Maltby/Murphy- sbs 2z shaky but clean, 2twist ok, throw 2r. Good spins in unison, sloppy footwork and bad position on lift but completed ok, nice low death spiral, good spins, cool performance to blues and/or jazz music.

2. Jordan/Barrett- fast, sharp and exciting program to the Debeer's diamond commercial music similar to what Shen/Zhao used a couple years ago. Serious expressions on their faces to match the music. Very good 2twist, great throw 2r with lots of distance, sbs2z he fell, spins out of synch good footwork and death spiral, shaky pairs spin. This team really blows me away-- they are always fun to watch even when they make mistakes. For a US pair, they *really* rock! Looking forward to seeing them at Easterns...not sure if they will be novice or junior but since she's only 10 or so I wouldn't mind seeing them make a stab at the novice title instead of getting buried below other age-eligible juniors.

3. Varraux/Pelletier- New team, both new to pairs I believe, I think this is their first ever competition together. sbs 2z she fell, throw 2r, attempt at 2 twist I guess that ended up being nothing really-- it never really got in the air, sort of ended up as a lift up and back to the ice --just not right, and I would have to say they totally failed that element. Spins of course were out of unison, and they were very shaky overall. They are not really a pair yet but they do have an interesting look and I'm excited about what these two could achieve with more time together. I just have a feeling that could really be something but right now you can really tell they are just starting. I was very surprised to see them get a 2nd place ordinal from one judge because they were clearly last in my book in this field, though they are on their way....they had a fun program and look, with some cool spin-pull move. Good luck to them.
