The REAL Wheaties box

Just thought I'd post a link for those of you who haven't seen it yet. You can see the box cover on the photographer's website www.jayadeff.com The photo is beautiful! From what Jay has stated himself at FSW, Robin Wagner, Sarah and her 'team' looked at pics online and chose this one--such an honor!

Jay is a terrific photographer and an all-around nice guy. I got the chance to meet him in LA and watch him at work. He's a free-lance photographer, so it was funny watching him sneak in to the 'official' photographer's area during practices--he made it every time! :)

I really don't think it's that great of a picture - Sarah's torso looks very distorted (just the angle, I bet) and the over-the-skate tights make her feet look so lumpy. I would have expected to see her smiling, too!

Of course, I took the worst pictures at Nationals '01 - the only decent one was a shot of the logo at center ice, so I shouldn't be so picky, huh? :wink:

I love that picture. Don't even want to compare it to my photos. :roll: He got the depth of field just right -- my photos have the background competing with the skater.

Jay is just an all-around nice guy -- a pleasure to talk with and modest as he can be about his talents.

Dustin, I dunno - her free leg is bent, and the over-the-skate tights are funny looking to me. I'd have thought a podium photo would be better, especially with Sarah's gorgeous smile!

And this is not to say that the photographer is in any way terrible - his photos are beautifully composed, just not the best poses of Sarah that I've seen.

I think that is a terrible picture. There is something off in the angle. I think they could have picked something much more beautiful.

I got one! Well, actually two, but I couldn't resist! I love that picture and seeing it reminds me of Sarah's wonderful Olympic moment.

Anyone else spot Sarah on their Wheaties box yet? ;)

I've been looking, but so far, no luck. I don't particularly care for Wheaties, but . . . for Jay's picture, why not? I'm in buying mode. If the boxes are in Indianapolis, perhaps they've made it to Ohio stores.

I haven't spotted the box either. As for the picture, I would have picked Sarah doing a layback as opposed to her spiral. I agree, her leg is bent in both of the shots. Not as attractive as it could have been.

The Wheaties Box was featured prominently on Yahoo.com and that wasn't the picture they showed. The one they used was one in which Sarah was wearing the "Vulcan ear boob" dress - the royal blue sparkly one that she wore early in the season for her LP.
