Michelle Kwan and New Skating Rink

I can't remember where I saw/heard, but could someone give me a link or information on a skating rink that Kwan and others are building/investing to be in Southern California (Torrance area). Thanks!

I haven't heard anything about Michelle Kwan investing in a rink. Where did you hear that? You may be thinking of Anthony Liu and his purchase of Ice Castle in Lake Arrowhead.

I only remember several months ago a mention that Danny Kwan was looking in to buying a rink, but there was never any confirmation of that ... and no more has been said since then.

It's in the Cerritos, Ca. area and should be finished around the 1st of Aug, 2004. They started the building about 1 month ago.

Cerritos is about 10 mins from the Paramount and Lakewood ice rinks off the 91 freeway. About 15- 20 mins from Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm.

I think it's going to be mostly a recreational/ISI type rink. I heard something about a museum or something like that (?) but it was through the grapevine and I'm not sure.

FSWer, why wouldn't Michelle continue skating? I doubt she's got any urge to become the manager of a rink, or any other role? And I doubt Karen is skating much anymore, since she is pregnant... :roll:

I was near karen in the westin hotel during nationals and she had a lot of energy for almost due with the baby! I thought she had at least four or five more months:0) Congrats to the new family!

I too saw Karen and Peter many times at Nationals in Atlanta in January. I knew she was pregnant, but she sure looked like she
had many months to go! I'm amazed that she had her baby already!
