sasha is incredibly talented. so is michele. two different styles.
but my preference is toward michele because she has the control over her emotions that is necessary to win.
at nationals this year this difference in this area of competitive endeavor was highlighted in an extraordinary way.
michele exuded confidence, control, presence. she again showed us, the audience, her sense of complete control of herself and demonstrated that the ice is part of her---her element.
by contrast, sasha reeked of insecurity and fear upon her entry prior to the long.
the ice is like a giant reflector of emotion. the only other time i've experienced, as the audience, such confidence, control, and performing in "the moment" was when rudy galindo won the mens title in san jose.

Michelle! Sasha is lovely on the ice, no question about it, but for me, Michelle just drawed me into her performances most of the time, (both Olympics performances excluded.) whether I'm there live or watching on tv. Sasha has the ability to win but often either rushes or is too into thought to let go. I hope both ladies skate well and may the best on that night win!

Michelle! Sasha just doesn't draw the audience in quite like Michelle --- IMO there is a difference between good extensions and good presentation!!! Besides, MK is a class act!

When did people start calling Sasha Sashie? It sounds like a name you would give a puppy. So sorry to Sasha if it's really a family-given nickname :oops: I just always thought that Sasha was already a nickname for Alexandra. And Sasha is such a beautiful nickname...why ruin it by changing it to Sashie?

Michelle--she is the only skater that has brought tears to my eyes!! Sasha's very good and when she's clean her programs are amazing, but there's just something about Michelle and her personality on the ice that I love!

Bendy, rubber band positions don't, a skating legend make.
Figure skating is a sport you have to go out there and PROVE you are the BEST. I don't care how "talented" you are. One must not rely on vague "Talent".

Sasha...she has so many elements that are among the best I've ever seen, or even the best, that her skating is like a banquet for me...overall, win, lose or draw, her skating just makes me feel very light and airy, very happy inside...images of her that stick in my mind make me have a big smile for days after I see her skate.

ALthough I LOVE MK, I have to say that her previous programs have not impressed me. They lack some of the originality that she used to have in the past. OTOH, Sasha's programs grabbed me more and she is so beautiful to watch. I'm for Sasha this year at Worlds!

SASHA, SASHA, SASHA, SASHA!!!!!!! She is so wonderful to watch. Her talent is absolutely wonderful. She is a much better skater then Kwan. I also love Irina, Yukina Ota and Jenny Kirk. Kwan's skating is always the same. I would LOVE to see Sasha win her first World Championship. If Irina is able to go to the Worlds I want her on the podium as well.

Both of these young women are pretty spectacular, each in their own right.

My heart is with Michelle though. As much as I could watch Sasha skate all day, I don't feel any emotional response toward her. I do, however, watching Michelle.
