Where will the 2007 Nationals be? The finalists were Spokane, WA; Hershey, PA; and Boston, MA.

What happened to November which was the date the USFSA originally posted? Maybe no one wants it?

May is the date that the location is finalized. The chosen city should be announced soon. I thought it would be annouced in Atlanta.

It could go west even though next years event is west. With the new policy of ignoring rotation in the event, anything's possible.

I doubt Hershey can pull off the event, personally. Boston's last event was great! Expensive lodging but great. The busing was outstanding. However, if they pull and "Atlanta" with the FBI criminal background requirement, I won't go. Orlando weatherwise is great in the winter comparitively but I doubt the event will go back there. Last time it was a well attended event but due to an inside mistake in completing paperwork it was a financial nightmare. The USFS will make them pay for life for that one, I'm sure.

Actually, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not buying an early ticket. I'll be waiting until all details and contracts are set in stone before attempting to buy a ticket. That way at least I'll know what I'm getting before plunking down hundreds of dollars to make a blind purchase!

I wouldn't rule out coming to Boston just because of the bus pass policy. It's fast and easy to get around the city by public transportation, and a weekly pass for the T is a lot cheaper than what they typically charge for the bus passes, too. At 2001 Nationals, just about everyone I know used the T instead of the competitor bus, and we all got around fine.

But there was something really cool (and of course, fast) about going in the competitor bus with the police escort that allowed it to go through red lights and travel the wrong way down one-way streets. I went to college in the Boston suburbs and have vivid memories of trying to negotiate traffic (and lousy street signs) while driving around Boston - Nats transportation was the frustrated Boston driver's revenge! :)

And traveling on the same bus with the skaters was cool, too. It was my first Nats.

For some reason, the selection was made yesterday, not in May.

It is official, Spokane for 2007. Personally, with Portland having 2005 Nationals, the Olympics being in 2006, and many fans not looking to book tickets years out right now, I think 2007 will be a difficult sell.
