Does any Michelle-fan who is into statistics know which european comps and shows she attended in the last years? It seems to me she hardly ever comes here - if somebody knows some original quotes/or interviews from her about that topic, please tell.

Thank you

You're right; she doesn't come to Europe often:

2000 Worlds - Nice, FRA
2000 Grand Prix Final - Lyon, FRA
1999 Worlds - Helsinki, FIN
1997 Worlds - Lausanne, SUI
1996 Trophee Lalique - Paris, FRA
1996 Champion Series Final - Paris, FRA
1996 Centennial on Ice - St. Petersburg, RUS
1995 Nations Cup - Gelsenkirchen, GER

So in the last 7 seasons, she has competed in 69 competitions, only 8 of which were in Europe. That's 11.5%! And I don't see MK making the trek to Europe anytime soon either..

Thank you for this perfect information, Josef!
Do you know anything about shows? Sure we don't have so many but do you know of any she attended?

I didn't see any of the top European skaters in the North American events much either, unless Worlds was in the US. Irina competed in Skate Canada the past two seasons, but only after she was confident she chad a shot at beating Kwan there. It's interesting that Maria B, and Irina rarely competed in Skate Canada, or Skate America...if ever. Does anyone know the stats on the top European lady skaters (Irina, Maria, Surya,) participating in competition in North America?

Skate America and Skate Canada have been around a long time. It wasn't until '94 that they joined with Russia, France, Germany, and Japan to form what we now call the Grand Prix Series. I think it was originally called Skate International.

Bonaly skated at Skate Canada in 91 and 97. She skated at Skate America in 89, 90, 91, 93, 94 and 95.

Butryskaya skated at Skate Canada in 92 and 97. She skated at Skate America in 96 and 98.

Slutskaya skated at Skate Canada in 96, 98, 2000, and 2001. She skated at Skate America in 94 and 95.

To my knowledge, Kwan has never skated in a European tour. She has been one of the main headliners on the Champions on Ice Tour since the mid nineties.

Sorry, I don't know the stats for anybody competing in the USA, nits.
I am trying to attend as much reachable competitions/shows as possible.
Last year I was in Gelsenkirchen and I was VERY pleased to see Nikodinov, Kirk, Weiss, Stojko, Ina/Zimmermann! In Paris I saw Sasha Cohen, Todd Eldregde and Bourne/Kraatz. It was wonderful! Since Michelle is out of the Grand Prix serie for this season I have no hope that we will see her in any show either - I just wondered if she did in the past.

Ups - edited - 'cause how could I forget to mention T. Goebel in Gelsenkirchen and S. Hughes in Paris?

Many skaters (including Bute) peak later in the year, so they don't want to risk competing poorly at Skate America or Skate Canada, the first two GPs of the season.
